Eagle Lake Camping Trip

So…short story: Michelle grew up in a tiny tiny tiny (did I mention tiny) town called Adin. It is in Northern…like really Northern, seriously Northern East of California in the extreme gorgeous forestry areas. It is part of a lovely community named Big Valley. She is privileged to live back here (away from Wine Country-Napa—sad face) but really enjoying her time in the peaceful nature during this Pandemic crisis. She lives on a long dirt road with her only neighbors, the Higgins family—who have an amazing Ranch called Twinpine Angus.

The Higgins family recently invited Michelle on a camping trip to the beautiful Eagle Lake. Of course, she brings her camera to document such precious moments.

During these difficult times of the Coronavirus economic shut-down, world chaos and what not, it is easy to get overwhelmed (especially for us small business owners). You know? The whole Pandemic, riots, oh and now fires… This camping trip brought much happiness and peace to Michelle. She got to reconnect with her long lost family and made new friends along the way. Also, she gets to stay in the Photography Business, yay!!

She mostly connected with 5 year old Helen. They have much in common, despite their age difference. They became really good friends.

Helen was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at the age of 3. Michelle suffers from the same disease, she was diagnosed at age 4. This disease is definitely treatable, but it is very hard to manage and control. We, Type One Diabetics suffer in silence. Especially since people are very misunderstood about this disease. It affects every single thing in our lives. There is no single dose of medicine, then you’re good (like most people think). It is a constant struggle of a guessing game of high and low blood sugar. Everything in your life affects this blood sugar and the dosage of medicine to take (activity, stress, illness, sugar, carbs…just to name a few). But of course everyone is different and may not have the same experience. ALSO…it is COMPLETELY different than Type Two Diabetes. Okay, done with my rant….back to Photography and camping.

Sweet Helen is very lucky to have the family and support she has. It is not easy on them either, but they do such a great job with helping her. I also have to thank my parents, friends and family for all of their help. No, seriously…back to camping. Hahah…

These children’s smiles go for miles. They are at true bliss and happiness. Run around free, can it be? Such carefree. Nothing but love, and joy…oh boy!!

Wow…did not mean to be that poetic…or did I? HAHA…

These kids had the time of there lives and I was so happy to capture these moments. They sure loved to play in the dirt. Nothing but gracious personalities. Oh yeah, also…Great Dane (Yikes, talk about huge!!)

This blog and photos were done by Michelle:)

-psttt…she speaks in third person.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them.
